Marysville, Washington – A woman was taken into custody Saturday evening in Marysville, Washington, following allegations that she threatened her juvenile daughter with a firearm, KIRO 7 News Seattle reported. The incident prompted a significant law enforcement response involving Marysville police and the Region 1 SWAT Team.

Marysville police officers were dispatched to the 8400 block of 74th Drive NE after the juvenile daughter initiated a 911 call, police said. Prior to officers' arrival, the daughter safely departed the residence and was able to meet with the responding police personnel, ensuring her immediate safety.

Upon establishing a perimeter around the home, police began their investigation, which led them to develop probable cause for the woman's arrest on suspicion of felony harassment. This charge specifically involved threats to kill, according to information released by police. Given the severe nature of these alleged threats and the potential presence of firearms within the residence, officers requested specialized assistance. The Region 1 SWAT Team was called to the scene to aid in resolving the situation safely.

With the SWAT team in place, law enforcement proceeded to secure a search warrant for the property. Once the warrant was obtained, SWAT personnel advanced on the home. They employed tactical measures, including the use of a flashbang distraction device, designed to disorient any occupants and enhance officer safety. An armored vehicle was also utilized to breach the front door of the residence, facilitating entry while minimizing risk to personnel.

Following the breaching of the door, police initiated negotiations with the woman inside the home. These discussions ultimately proved successful, leading the woman to exit the residence. Police said she was then arrested without further incident or confrontation. The resolution of the standoff ensured that the immediate threat was contained.

In the subsequent search of the residence, officers discovered and recovered multiple firearms, police confirmed. Following her arrest, the woman was transported and booked into the Snohomish County Jail. Marysville police affirmed that at no point following her arrest was there an ongoing threat to the broader community. The detailed and measured response by law enforcement agencies, including the strategic deployment of the SWAT team, aimed to ensure the safety of both the individuals involved and the surrounding neighborhood. The multi-step process, from the initial 911 call to the final booking, underscores the coordinated effort required to address incidents involving serious threats and potential weapons.
