Habitat for Humanity has organized a community effort called "Blankets of Encouragement" to collect donations for the newly opened Life Advancement Center located at 916 Plumas Street in Yuba City, as a local news report described.

Karen Gheorma, director of Supportive Outreach Services for Habitat for Humanity, told a local news report that twin-size blankets are needed for individual shelter, recuperative care, and transitional beds. Additionally, full and queen-size blankets are required for the facility's six family rooms.

Donations can be delivered to the Life Advancement Center or coordinated directly with Gheorma by calling (530) 742-1454, extension 2017, or by emailing [email protected], according to the same report.
