Twenty-four pallets of non-perishable food arrived at the Yuba-Sutter Food Bank in Yuba City on Tuesday morning, delivered by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as part of the nationwide America250 “America Gives” initiative. According to a local news report, the church selected Yuba City due to the Sikh community's generosity during its recent festival. Representatives from the food bank, the church, and local nonprofits unloaded the semi-truck. Seva Selfless Service and the Western Farm Workers Association received provisions from the shipment, with the food bank retaining the remainder for its partner agencies. Yuba City Mayor Marc Boomgaarden, Sutter County Supervisor Jeff Stephens, and Marysville City Councilmember Marjorie Rollins attended the event alongside other local organizers and directors.
